I am an experienced and diligent development worker. I had been working with 80 home based care women from 1999 until 2006 when I went to Canada to study leadership in development. In 2007 I went Australia to work with African Aids Foundation founded, by Dr. John Schwarz. I worked alongside John in promoting the African Aids foundation and developing skills in fundraising and partnerships. At various times since 1999 I have participated in research, served as a community activist and have appeared on television and radio programmes. My experience over the last eight years has expanded and acutely developed my understanding of the contexts that perpetuate poverty such as the lack of education, gender inequality, TB and HIV/Aids, racial division and so on.

One thing that one understands from transformative education is that it provides opportunities and possibilities to think and live beyond the boundaries. As a proud villager from the majestic mountains of the Drakensberg in northern KZN, I am an experience and tireless development worker who as been working with 80 home based care women since 1999. Since 2002 I have been working as a researcher, community activist, participated on television and radio programs and international travel experience have expanded my repertoire to understand the context that perpetuates poverty, lack of education, gender inequality, TB/HIV, racial division and so on.

Praxis becomes meaningful when we are to understand our own narrative. In understanding my own narrative I always ask myself question around who I am and what motivates me to be involved in community development and theology.

I came to Cornerstone Christian College in 2008. I was referred by Sister Simone, the head of Evangelical of Sisterhood of Mary in Australia which, has been accompanied by countless support, for my education, from Dr. John Schwarz, his family and other Australian families.

My education at Cornerstone Christian College has been comprehensive in transforming my life. What each and every lecturer brings to the classroom experience is not a mere communication of facts. Their teaching methodology, at the core, cultivates the mind and heart of the student. In particular, the teaching and the learning experience, destroys marred identities inherited from different walks of life in order to bear an image of wholeness in society.

My education has strengthened my passion and vision for social transformation. Those who transform societies have received true transformation and freedom.
